ECKSTEIN, RICHARD Mr., HOWARD E. ROWEN, JR., AND KATSURO SHIMOMURA. Technique for placement of catheters in the common left coronary artery. J. Appl. Physiol. 25(5): 636-637. 1968.-The construction of a device and its use for placement of catheters in the common left coronary artery and the origin of its major branches are described. Essentially, the technique consists of the introduction of a guide wire into the subclavian artery and through the wall of a coronary artery. The wire is used to pull an attached catheter into place. It has been used in acute experiments and in chronic preparations for as long as 1 month. A technique for the placement of occluding and nonoccluding devices into the canine major septal artery for purposes of injections is also presented.

Left Main Coronary Artery Disease: traditional risk factors in a study from northwest of Iran
Background & Aims: Significant left main coronary artery disease (LMCAD) is found in 3 to 6 percent of all patients who undergo coronary arteriography. LMCAD usually requires an emergent surgery that has a higher rate of mortality and complications. The risk factors of left main involvement in previous studies are controversial. The aim of this study was to determine the traditional risk factor...

متن کاملInfluence of different treatment planning techniques on radiation doses to the heart, left anterior descending coronary artery and left lung in the radiotherapy of left-sided breast cancer patients
Background: Breast-conserving surgery (BCS) followed by radiotherapy (RT) is the standard of care for women with breast cancer. Evidence shows that RT dose to the heart can result in ischemic heart disease. In this study we compared 3 different RT techniques were for heart, left anterior descending coronary artery (LAD) and lung doses in left breast cancer patients after breast-conserving surge...
متن کاملReport of a Variation of the Right Common Carotid Artery
Carotid artery is the most important artery that carries the major part of the blood supply to the head and neck. The branching of the common carotid artery usually occurs at the upper edge of the thyroid cartilage. The placement of carotid sinus has also increased its importance in this area. Considering the clinical importance of knowledge about carotid artery variations, this case is reporte...
متن کاملCongenital Absence of Left Circumflex Coronary Artery
Congenital absence of left circumflex artery is a rare congenital anomaly of the coronary arteries. The prevalence of the anomaly in different studies ranges from 0.6% to 1.3%. Of these, 80% are benign and asymptomatic and 20% are clinically important. We report a 56-year-old man presented with acute resting chest pain who was diagnosed as having acute anterolateral infarction accompanied by el...
